Walter Maffei is considered to be amongst the most productive and innovative artists on the contemporary scene; he is versatile and eclectic, an idealist and a traveller, with an innate talent, great professionalism and a striking sense of communication.
The great passion which he has nurtured for theatre, cabaret and magical arts since childhood led him, over time, to develop a much personalised way of performing. His performances combine the archaic and the modern, always have modern dramatics and so the magic becomes a theatrical technique in a fusion of humour, poetry and surprise. He has always produced his own shows, creating and acting them out, and taking responsibility for the organisation, musical arrangements and topics.
He loves combining his art with other disciplines; he has shared the stage with ballerinas, percussionists, gymnasts, conjurers and cabaret artists, with the aim of trying out new forms of artistic expression and visual communication. Many of these are artists who have inspired him, but stars such as Federico Fellini, Charlie Chaplin and Italo Calvino have also had a notable influence on his life.
He speaks perfect Italian, French and English, he addresses audiences of all ages and loves performing in small spaces so as to obtain the perfect symbiosis with the public, who are enchanted and let themselves be seduced at the same time. Walter Maffei is an intelligent, charismatic artist, without a mask and witnessing one of his performances gives you the optimism of day-to-day illusions which are suffocated by society.
He has successfully participated in many television shows (Zelig Off, Rete 4 with Patrizia Rossetti, Rai 1 with Danila Bonito, Telemontecarlo with Claudio Lippi, Canale 5 with Maurizio Costanzo,...) and he has performed at big events for international brands (Coca-cola, Rothafarm, Hermés,...).
